New Dam Seeding and Erosion Control!

Seeding and Eroison Control Blankets!

A client of ours who ownes a nice piece of property out in Cuba, Illinos has a great piece of property with several lakes.  They wanted to turn one of the many lakes into a bigger lake so they pushed back a dam and are going to let the lake slowly fill in. It should make this lake about a half acre larger and allow 6 to 8 ft of water increase.  After doing this they called us.  We at HUNTPLOTS INC. specialize in erosion control and seeding as we do food plots and manage properties in the local areas.

We talked with the owners and came up with the plan to plant brome grass on the new dam as it grows rather quickily , strongly and tightly as sod does. ( Brome grass is and exceptional grass for dam planting as it has a very strong root system and provides excellent erosion  control.)  We went with the brome grass because the property has alot of it growing on it and it grows really well in the soil they have on the property.

Pictured  to the Left is a Before look and the Picture to the Right the After look.  We use a Plot Master 400 to do the discing and ground work pulled by a Ranger 800.  The Plot Master is a great machine for doing small wild game food plots.  You can get these machines into about anywhere. They come in 3 atv and 3 tractor models. To purchase and or information on the Plot Master check out the link.  We are your local plot master dealer.

Back to erosion control.  Below are some pictures of the finished project.

If you are in need of Erosion control this next year give us a call we would be happy to come to your property for a consultation and see what you need done. You can contact us by phone or email.
